A Little Wade's History...

Wade’s was founded on March 6, 1947 by Wade and Betty Lindsey when they purchased a small grocery store/lunch counter on South Pine St. Soon Betty Lindsey began offering her home-style meat and vegetable meals and tradition began. Since 1977 Wade and Betty Lindsey’s Son and Daughter Hamp and Carole have kept the tradition alive by providing only the best in food and service quality.

We attribute our success not only to the decision to focus on meats and veggies, but to the superior service that we consistently offer our customers. We like to say we give our customers $20 service at $6 prices. To ensure that we provide our customers with the best service possible, we must have the best staff possible. We begin by hiring a staff that we feel has the ability to succeed at Wade’s. We invest a lot of time and money into training our staff so that they can perform their job the “Wade’s Way.”

Positions On Our Team...

On average, we have 110 players on our team. A restaurant of our size has many different positions that we have to fill to provide the best quality food and service possible. Some of the positions are:

Host/Hostess: This position requires excellent customer service skills, a friendly face, and tons of speed and energy.
Front Cashier: In addition to a friendly personality, this position requires someone who is capable of handling money and running a computerized register.
Take Out: This area is very fast paced, challenging, and exciting. Must have excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
Dining Room Server Assistant: This position involves helping wait staff serve food to guests. Must have energy, speed, and a pleasant attitude.
Dining Room Wait Staff: This position requires a high-energy team player who will take orders and serve food. You need to have excellent customer service skills and an eagerness to create a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Line Server: This position is an entry-level kitchen position. An individual must be high energy and be able to multitask.
Dishroom Staff: This position requires an individual to be extremely hardworking and willing to get down and dirty when needed.
Busser: This position involves cleaning and clearing tables. A busser needs to have speed and exhibit a professional attitude.
